The Uganda Fogarty Alumni Association was formed as an interest group within the Uganda Society of Health Scientists (USHS) on 2nd June 2006. The Alumni Association is a membership organization that aims to establish a network of Ugandan former Fogarty trainees through communications, activities, programs and services.

UFAA’s goals:
Promote networking and strengthen professional and social interaction among Ugandan Fogarty alumni.
Create an association for the integration of returning Fogarty trainees, to promote their post-training activities and provide opportunities to use acquired skills.
Promote collaboration across the Fogarty-sponsored programs in Uganda.
Actively involve alumni in the activities of the Uganda Society of Health Scientists.
Organize and participate in social service projects to raise awareness on killer diseases.

Facilitate mentorship of up-coming junior scientists.
